A New Book, a New Look . . . a Return!

Around the last quarter of 2024, I posted an update called RE-SCOPING: My Future in Social Media. It was a breakdown of not only my thoughts, but also my plans to draw away from the social media circus and re-focus myself on my creative projects. What I didn't know at the time is that this re-scoping also applied to my entire creative pallet: my entire scope of work has changed from what I had been working on for the past few years, to a whole new effort.

Actually, it's not a new effort at all, but an old one.

When we were young, my best friend (and author) Aaron Conaway and I created a shared universe of characters and storylines. We called this shared universe New Vision. Our goal was to create a comic book company in which we could fully realize this vision, but the comics industry is a tough nut to crack.

Over the years, we learned our vision was too big to possibly fit all into one medium. Aaron had already forged new paths for telling our stories . . . I just needed to let go of the idea of my stories being exclusively expressed in the comics format. When I finally released that, the creative juices started flowing and I have been writing NON STOP! Wthin a month, I am near-completion of my latest project.

And now, I introduce to you my upcoming book . . . aiming for a late-April/early-May release!

PSI-STRIKE: MIND WAR is my first book in a continuing series of stories told in Aaron and I's New Vision Universe. MIND WAR tells the story of Master Sergeant Robert McCloud, who leads his unit on a secret mission at the tail-end of the invasion of Panama. A horrible accident disrupts their operation and leaves McCloud scarred and disfigured. In the midst of his recovery, McCloud finds he has developed strange, psychic abilities as well as a vast conspiracy to eliminate him. In his attempt to solve this mystery, he uncovers a  new global threat growing in the shadows, infiltrating all levels of government. 

PSI-STRIKE: MIND WAR is formatted as a part of New Vision's Pulp Papberback series. Our Pulp Paperbacks are shorter, novella-length books emulating the paperback pulp fiction dime-store novels popular in the mid-20th century. They are fun, quick reads.

I am currently doing final edits for the book and hope to have a proof copy in my hands within a week or two for review. I am more excited about this work than I have been any of my other publications for years . . . it's a character and a story that has lived in my head for decades, waiting to be unleashed into the world! I cannot express enough, I have been waiting practically my whole life to tell this story! I cannot wait to share it with all of you! Writing this story was like returning home to the origins of my own imagination. Stay tuned to hear when MIND WAR will be available for purchase!

With all of this, I have updated the look and feel of my website, including shifting the menu navigation. Have a look around! I just felt it was time to refresh the landscape!

And, don't worry, friends . . . I'm still making comics. In fact, the next comic in the New Vision Universe will hopefully be out this year: Vision Tales #1! This comic is an anthology series of New Vision stories, continued from Vision Tales #0, which you can get in my Shop.
